V. Mae Townsend, Artist
Remembering Chalky...
Chalky Townsend built Townsend's Alpenblick Chalet in 1965
for his family. Many great memories have been made and
continue at Pico, the friendly mountain. Chalky absolutely loved
to ski and enjoyed family and friends at the Chalet. He continued
to ski until the age of 77 when he took his last ski run and
passed away doing what he loved to do best. Yes, his spirit is still skiing Pico to this day
and his ashes lay to "rest" at the top of Pico. Maybe he'll take a run with you today or join
you at his bar stool at the Last Run Lounge. "Um-boy-yeah!"
